Born 1964 as Pino Grzybowsky. Lived in Germany, France and the U.S.A., now based in Munich (D).
His musical education started in 1974 with learning on electric organ.
He heard his first Tangerine Dream record 'Ricochet' in 1976, knowing from that point on that he wants to play with synthesizers in the future.
His first appearances as keyboarder in live-bands began in 1980 playing Korg and Moog synths, a string-machine, the Hohner D6 Clavinet and the Fender Rhodes. Autodidactic learning of playing piano, Clavinet and keyboards and working with analogue synths. Resulted in releasing tapes with own compositions of electronic music through fanzines in the early eighties. Also many co-compositions were done with different bands in the Frankfurt/Main area in Germany.
70's Electronica, New Wave, the 80's, Crossover and Funk played a big role in his musical growing-up. He bought the Atari 1024ST computer in 1987 and started to create tracks immediately. He stopped being a keyboarder for bands in 1992 and started to work with singers and guitar-players along with the computer under the project name Baby Tigers. In 1995 he started to Dj and to release his first 12" EPs on labels like Superstition, Sony, Delirium and Pod-Communication in the Techno and Ambient fields. He collected a stack of analogue gear up to mid 1997 - sold then his whole studio to move to Los Angeles. Together with Michael Knapp he started to work on building up a studio around Mike's vast collection of analogue synths. Their collaboration 'Insect Jazz' scored at legendary label Elektrolux worldwide and famous TV-program Space Night in Germany. Back in Europe was heavy touring as DJ and live-act under Dr.Scissors plus working in the art-context as sound-designer with the artist collective Supreme Particles. Their interactive media-art installation 'R111' covering sound, vision, motion-tracking and the internet was shown in France, Belgium, Japan and in Germany to a large audience.
The alter ego Edgar 9000 was born in early 2005, marking the 25 year anniversary of being a composer, sound-designer and musician with around 100 appearances on different records, CD's and even full-feature movies. The idea behind Edgar 9000 is to shape an introspective approach to music within the musical heritage of his beginnings with the means of today. Combining fire and ice - anlogue and digital in a cinemascope sound with a usual limit to not more than ten single instruments in one piece of music, but still rich in sound and melodies.
Edgar 9000's first full length album 'Below My Danger Line' is currently produced by Cet Merlin (Papenburg FX, Space Frog, Jimmy Somerville, Los Los, Kashma Hoody) and will be finished by the end of 2006.
