This is the first Monoton release for SSS. We should have more Monoton music to come in the next few months as this artist is quite productive and always shows a slight sharp inspiration.
For this release (the last one in the first SSS cycle) we got back to the idea of asking a graphical designer to work on the artwork.
We did it a handful of times. The Kymzo Studio near Bordeaux produced the computer graphic picture for the first Jeffro's release (sss002), Miss Le Bomb of the Queen Of Japan combo gave us an amazing drawing of her own collection to illustrate their release (sss017). Same thing happened with Number Six (sss022) and the Little Big Things series by Rich.vom.Dorf (sss030 and sss032). And we asked the French artist Frédéric Nakache (based in Nice) to think about a picture that could fit the Linda Lamb's release 'Party Spirit Volume 1' (sss024).
It's always an exciting moment when we start a new collaboration and when we discovered the works of
Taro Yumiba on the
www.atmsphr.org website we immediately asked him if he would be interested in working on an exclusive artwork for Monoton's 'Plastic Laundry'. He said yes in minutes, sent us this beautiful abstract vector illustration some days later; we are quite proud to have him on our side for next operations!
To close this small information text we shout a big Thank You to Custa. Custa is a very friendly guy and music lover who keeps updated the SSS page on the discogs.com website. He's the one who recommended us to listen to Monoton's music...
